Zibi House

Designed to incite both delight and dialogue, this one-of-a-kind structure provides the world’s first look into Zibi, a revolutionary, 34-acre waterfront city poised to become Canada’s most progressive urban locale. In homage to our clients’ future-facing vision and commitment to the sustainability framework outlined by One Planet, we created a series of rooms that underscore historical, environmental, or cultural elements of the site. In addition to incorporating locally made furnishings and materials inspired by Zibi’s surroundings (a single serviceberry tree, for example, is showcased in tribute to the location’s history as a paper mill), each room pairs distinct architectural detailing with a unique sensory experience. The last, in a nod to sight, allows visitors to travel to a glass observation deck atop a tower of shipping containers for a literal glimpse of the current landscape and a metaphorical one into all that lies ahead.
